Camp Daybreak is a residential summer camp experience for Vermont kids ages 8-11 with a range of social, emotional and behavioral needs. It is the only direct service program of The Vermont Association for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery.
Every year 40 campers attend the program and each are paired with a big sibling – a high school or college age volunteer. The program focuses on providing a strength-based experience for the campers as well as offering a unique training regarding mental health conditions for the volunteers who attend. Additionally, Camp Daybreak offers an important respite component for the families of the campers.
Since 1961, Camp Daybreak has provided a life changing experience for the campers, volunteers and families that participate in the program.
